Ron King

Ron King started his singing career at age 16 when he got to record the first song he ever wrote, "Carol Ann," at Regent Sound Studios, just off Broadway in New York City. As lead singer of the Windsors, a young doo-wop quartet from Washington, PA, Ron had no idea that, years later, record collectors would be paying up to $500.00 per copy for the 45 record he had just recorded. Eventually Ron left the Windsors, learned how to play guitar and formed a band called Ronnie King and the Passions. This group recorded several songs on Scotty and Gateway Records out of Pittsburgh, PA. One of the songs recorded at that time,"Girl Break Away," was recently re-released on Psychedelic Records in the Netherlands and is currently being sold to collectors throughout Europe. Ron continued to tour with his band for a few more years and then, tired of the road and rock and roll lifestyle, hung up his guitar and settled down to a normal life with his wife and kids. Ron attended St. Gregory's Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Washington Hospital of Radiologic Technology and graduated with honors from the University of California at Pennsylvania with a degree in English and Communications. Ron also became a talk show host with his own show, The Ron King Show, on cable TV in Washington, Canonsburg and Mt. Lebanon,PA and then moved on to Cornerstone Christian Television in Pittsburgh, PA. While at Cornerstone TV, Ron had a religious conversion and dedicated his life to the Lord; he also began to think of what God might have in store for his future. After working at Cornerstone TV for two years, Ron left and built Ron King Productions, a Recording Studio in Washington,PA and a few years later built Christian Radio station WRKP-FM in the Wheeling, WV area. About two years ago Ron felt a leading on his life to start singing again—this time for the Lord. Ron is now actively writing, recording and producing contemporary Christian music, both for himself and other artists, and is singing at coffee houses, churches, fairs and festivals. Ron feels that God has given him a talent and that he is truly blessed to be able to minister and share his talent with others.
